Ability for the parents and guardians to communicate with the Class Teacher or School Principal through the Parent Portal

User Role

Parents and Guardians


Description

This allows parents or guardians to communicate directly to the class teacher, subject teacher or Principal through the Portal.

Steps to use

  1. Click Home on the Navigation Bar

  1. Scroll Down to Leave us a message and Select Class teacher or Head Teacher

  1. Type the message and Click Send

  1. The Principal, class teacher or admin will receive a notification on the end.






Ability to control Opting in and out of Optional Services

Module : Finance Management

User Role

Admin, privileged staff, Parents and Guardians


Description

This allows school admins to manage the optional services that parents or guardians have accepted to be billed on.

Steps to use

  1. The parents and guardians will click Finance Information>>Optional Fees>>Add fee on the Portal to accept the Optional Fee

  1. The Admin will click Manage Finance>>Transaction Authorization>>and select Transaction Type as Portal Optional Fees

  2. Tick the check box and Click Authorize to accept the request to be billed on optional fees



 Ability to capture results of a student inter moved within branches of the school

Module : Academic Management

User Role

Admin, Privileged staff


Description

This allows users i.e. teachers to grade students even after they have been inter moved within branches of their school.

This also allows users to generate report cards of the moved students.

Steps to use

  1. Click Academic Management>>Manage results to grade the Summative Assessments

  1. Click Academic Management>>CBC Curriculum>>Grading to grade the Formative Assessments

  2. Proceed to Generate the reports. You'll see the moved student with an X before the name meaning they have been deactivated and activated in another school/branch



Ability for parents and guardians to login to the Parent Portal with the same login credentials upon an inter school transfer 

Module : Administration

User Role

Parents, Guardians


Description

Inter School transfer is when students are inter moved within different branches of the school

This allows parents or guardians to still have access to child's information through the Parent Portal even after students are moved to different school branches.

It will indicate X before the student name on Siblings/related student records to show that the student was deactivated and moved to a different school/branch.

Steps to use

  1. Login to the Parent Portal
  2. Click Home and Scroll down to Siblings/related student records to view the historical details.



Ability to define different grading types

Module : Academic Management

User Role

Admin, privileged staff


Description

This allows users to define how the selective subjects are to be marked and the effect on the overall performance across different classes i.e. best of 6 or best of 2 where only the best subjects are being calculated in the overall performance report.

Steps to use

  1. Click Academic Management>>Exam Settings>>Grading Types to add the different grading types

  1. Click Academic Management>>Exam Settings>>Exam types per class/year to define the different exam types with the different grading types



Ability to add Cluster Groups

Module : Academic Management

User Role

Admin, privileged staff


Description

This allows users to define the different subjects to different groups in reference to the overall performance of calculating the best performed subjects i.e. Group 1 has compulsory subjects such as English, Mathematics and Kiswahili

Steps to use

  1. Go to Academic Management>>Exam Settings>>Grading Categories to specify the subject groups i.e. Group 1 and the total subjects to calculate in that group
  2. Click Academic Management>>Manage Units>>Class Units to set the different subject to the different cluster groups
